Inspired by our Dear Friend AMY!…
A message from Horizon’s Founder, Bill Yeager
This year’s Boo-t Camp Fun-draiser was inspired by a dear and long time friend of mine named Amy who is battling breast cancer.
I first met Amy and we instantly connected through our passion for fitness as she was starting to lose weight and feeling AMAZING in doing so.
In many ways, Amy has become not only a dear friend but like an older sister I can go to for advice. I consider her to be a part of my family and very dear to my heart.
Since meeting Amy, she’s lost tons of fat and gained some impressive muscle and tone. Amy has also been an inspiration and motivator to me along with hundreds of others throughout her fitness transformations. She has dedicated a lot of her time helping others by leading as an example living a healthy lifestyle.
Amy and our friends below even got me to take a Zumba training with them! Wow, they must be good huh? (That’s Amy in the red to the left) *I love this picture, they’re all so motivating!
I also wanted to share with you another favorite picture of Amy after one of her trainings a couple years ago. Doesn’t she look great?
Earlier this year Amy announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
I know Amy as a fighter, one of the toughest people I know.
Amy again inspired me, this time, to join her in the fight against breast cancer.
Amy allowed me to share some things that she wrote about the benefit of our fundraiser below:
Why Making Strides?
“Because I know I will make a difference in the fight to end breast cancer. I know that by raising funds and walking in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event, I will help save lives from breast cancer.
I believe that one day breast cancer will never steal another year from anyone’s life. Making Strides is not only my opportunity to join my community to fight back against breast cancer, but it is also a way to inspire hope by raising funds and awareness to help those facing the disease.
This is my opportunity to honor breast cancer survivors, remember people we have lost, and help raise funds for groundbreaking research as well as information and services for people fighting breast cancer.”
Please, join Horizon to fight breast cancer by joining us by either donating or being present during our Boo-t Camp Family FUN Night.
